I decided to quit looking and dumped all my bookmarks but there are still some subscriptions that come in automatically to the email. I got one today and the trigger finger started twitching uncontrollably and the "itis" flared up. Between the spastic finger and a horrible full body itch, I could not manage to get at a wallet in order to do anything. The auction is live and on-line for those wanting to place absentee bids. I did that once and watched my meagre bids disappear in a trail of cyber dust faster than a hot f11 key blowing across www. wasteland.

For those so inclined to wade through the three sessions shown, there will be some nice eye candy, including such things as AH BH GH VH an underlifter back action hammer 12, Grade 3 hammer two barrel sets chambered in 3 inch and lettered, Winchester Japan repros and a PARKERS' SNOW & CO / MERIDEN, CONN civil war musket attributed to James Mulholland contract . Have no idea if that is related to our friend Charles but it is my understanding he got started with guns in this manner.

Gauges include 10 12 16 20 and 28

At the least, they are nice pictures.

Jack, aside from the fact that you're terrific friend and great contributor to the fun we have here on the forum, you're also a pretty darn good writer as is evident in your first paragraph! I for one, would really like to read a good upland bird story written by you in Parker Pages. Why not give it some thought....?

I'll give it some thought. First thought is writing under pressure with expectations could lead to total writers block. Should that happen, Gentleman Jack and his Highland cousins may need to be consulted. Better yet, I might have to go hunting first to get inspired. We'll see.

Not to worry Dean. Certainly no apology in order. Just letting you know that the thought gave me a good excuse to play with the Parkers, go hunting and enjoy the sweet nectar of the peat bogs (in that order). On the playing front, I'm not sure if it is because I now have a few Parkers but I just got an invite to shoot at a Pheasants Forever event in June. Now I have never shot those pesky, inedible clay birds before but I agreed to "waste" some ammo, so I could play with the "new" guns before finding some roosters in October. It's all good.

I'd agree with Dean, you definitely should. The editor is a kind soul, he usually publishes the drivel I send in. That should show you that they'll take stuff from anybody! *wink*

And so I will search my memory for some upland adventures. I have more than five decades to filter and chose or blend a few or.......

BTW Destry, I hope you had a look at session 3. Grade 3 hammer, 3" chambers. Two barrel set (28 and 32). Lettered.

I also missed mentioning that there is a nice Trojan 16. (added now)

I did mention 28 gauge, but didn't mention it is the AH and one of only six made (or so it says) Minimum starting bid 15K Estimated to go between 30K and 45K.

I said I decided to quit looking. More correctly stated: I decided to quit looking with a view to buying. It may take a few years to rebuild the play with guns budget, which hit a significant deficit this year. Luckily I have a wife who practically made me do it when she reaffirmed the old addage, you only live once, followed by the Nike slogan - just do it. And so I did, with her blessing. Maybe she just got tired of the wimpering. Now going through the tough stage of waiting for arrival.
