Default Opening day with some Parker's

Dove season opened today here in AZ. Thanks to Chris for some wonderful wood work, and Brad for getting my barrel straightened away my VH 20 with 32" barrels and my VHE 16 I was able to get them out today. Lots of birds. Good luck to everyone hunting doves this week.

Dove season opened today here in Kentucky. For a lot of reasons - none of them good, mind you - I was not able to hunt today. But I'll be out there tomorrow in a fresh cut grain field, with my 16 gauge VH in hand..... It'll be a few more days before we see a lot of cut corn fields here in southern KY. Woohoo! Come on, fall!

Phil You must be a hell of a dove shot, because there more doves in the picture than shotgun shell hulls! The season opens in Mississippi Friday am invited to a dove shoot Saturday afternoon. My dog is ready and I am ready. Will shoot my DH 12 or 16 GH and miss more than I hit and will have wonderful time doing it. Dan

LOL Dan I'm just not that good still trying to get my Doubles pin. Shot about 40 shells for the 25 dove.
Taking my DH 28 out right now to see what I can do. Just love this time of year.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of pictures of that DH 28... oh, and you can embellish it with a few doves thrown in for flavor.

Phil If you killed 25 doves with 40 shells you are a great dove shot! I can not use the word harvest for game taken. I used to shoot doves with a 28 ga. ( not a DH). It was the gun that got me hooked on side by sides .How are doves hunted or shot in AZ.? Best of luck the rest of the season. Dan
