Default SHOOTING LESSON

Here are a few pics from a SC shoot at Elk Creek today. Julia had the privilege of getting tutored by one of the best - Harry Collins. Harry made the lesson fun and since he is an accomplished Martial Artist in his own right, he related shooting to similar movements we use in our Martial Arts training. Julia was a good student. She shot a personal high of 50, beating her old best of 23.

Harry and some of his Parker's are going to be featured in an upcoming Parker Chronicles article as he takes me on my first ever Dove hunt.

Julia was a pleasure to shoot with and thank goodness she didn't whoop me. One of the most pleasurable days shooting in a long time. Mike kept handing me beautiful svelt Parkers. Plus we had the svelt young Julia with us. I was in heaven. I must confess that Mike beat me 86 to 83. Next time Mike wants to play me for money. I can't wait (wink, wink).

I used the RST 3/4 oz loads in 16 ga and had no problem breaking clays. Morris explained to me at the southern sxs 3/4 oz loads were very effective. Julia shot RST 3/4 oz in 12 ga and we saw plenty of targets breaking. I'm going to use the 3/4 oz for hunting birds.

Mike had a little G Parker 16 gauge and the 3/4oz loads crushed the targets every time I pulled the hammers back. It had about as much recoil as a BB gun. Morris Baker, RST Shells, is not only a very clever fellow, he is one of the most generous men I have met. Generous with his knowledge, shells, and his Single Malt Grouse.
