A friends Griffon
This is the third griffon this friend has had. They have an enormous amount of personality and make great hiking companions. This one, named Appleton or "App" for short, is pointing a bee in my friends yard in Missoula. His current Griff has a great time running circles around and sniffing noses with the black bears they encounter on their hikes.

My entire family had German Wirehaired Pointers. When my last one died, I had small children coming along, and Griffon's are known to be better at indoor socializing. I think they had slightly less endurance, but their lovingness made up for that. Mine got an inoperable tumor at 4 and it broke my heart.
