What year did they start stamping "overload proved" on the barrel flats?

Between 1923 and 1926. I can only say that because I have Parkers made in 23 without the mark and guns made in 26 with it. Hope this helps.

Well i thought it WAS 1926 too, but i saw a trojan 20 ga for sale with S/N 169740 (1914) with it stamped on the flats.

Scott, I'm thinking 1924/25. The barrels you saw with the stamp could be replacement barrels from that era.
