Default Barrel swapping?

I have a Parker Trojan.
I have a Parker VH
12ga's
Just messing around I attached the barrels from my Trojan on the VH.
They fit nicely with the exception being the dolls head is square on the VH
and round on the Trojan and I have to swap fore ends.
Is it uncommon that they would interchange with a nice fit?
Would it be OK to swap and shoot them?
They are both #2 frames and the square dolls head of course won't attach to the Trojan.

It is very uncommon. I see no reason not to shoot it if the fit is as nice as you say.

I'll ask the obvious; Why switch them at all?

Interchangability is a total crisp shoot. Especially for something to go on with NO fitting needed at all. You may find that for those barrels to fit properly, they may need some work. But they may be good enough to shoot.

Just because they go on and open and close does not necessarily mean they fit. Lots of places should have good contact to fit properly.
