What a great gun and a 12 ga trojan with 26 in. barrels are not that common in the trojan grade. i looked for a year or so get get mine, scott

What a great gift.
Based on the fact that the case colors are cyanide type and not bone charcoal, along with the visible buffing line behind the bolster, I would say your gun was re-colored by Delgrego at some time in the past. Wood looks to have been refinished as well. 26" barrels on a 12g would have been a special order length. Uncommon, but not as uncommon as even shorter lengths.

Thank you all for the comments. I appreciate them all. Do the stamps on the barrel flats reveal any useful information?
I would not be surprised if this gun was refinished as mentioned by Mr. Dudley. It sure looks like it was barely used. |

The stampings on your barrel flats are very typical Trojan stamps... nothing of note or unusual.
