I believe the taper of the hull varies by manufacturer. When I reload the Win HS hull I use the HS wads, same when using the Rem STS it's Rem wads. I have never had a problem with any shell and I shot registered skeet for many years. Match your wad to the hull and your problems should go away.

An "underpowered" shell usually means a short charge of powder or a tipped wad. Some loaders are prone to tipping wads if the operator is not careful.

Are the squib loads from one specific hull?

Same same here!

The only problem I had was not measuring my powder often enough to make sure I was getting that the right drop. I was under. Good luck in your reloading. Todd
