Hunted this afternoon in Eastern Connecticut at Markover. After a light snow a few days ago, the trails were still in good shape and the cover not too good for the birds to hide in.
My buddy and I shot over our guide's English pointer, Steel. At four and a half years old, she had more energy than many teenagers drunk on Red Bull.
We hit 11 pheasants and 1 chukkar. A few escaped us, but we made up for that with the hard working Steel. She was a great worker on a beautiful day.
I shot my 1906 28" VH 12 ga, choked IC/F with RST 7.5 ammo. The combo worked great. My friend shot his 16 ga Arrieta Boss.
Attached are a few pics from the hunt. Can't wait for the next time out!
