Pretty nice little gun to look at. I once thought I had deep pockets, only to find it was just a fist sized hole in a worn out pocket.

JS takes great pains to avoid mentioning that the gun is pre-skeet, is not marked with Skeet In and Skeet Out chokes, and that he could, for $40.00, find out exactly how this gun left the factory. He also fails to mention that the consulting "authors" probably suggested on first meeting that he request the PGCA letter. He also takes further pains to avoid pictures of the barrel flats which would contain Remington repair codes if Remington made the modifications he suggests they made. It's a heck of a gun, at a fairly realistic price, but the seller does the potential buyer no favors by giving freely of the available information. A PGCA letter could possibly make this gun a prototype skeet gun, at least in the mind of a motivated buyer.

Good points Bill. As much as I would like a Parker configured in this manner my pocket book doesn't allow for it. The Taliban (IRS) is after my hard earned money and are demanding their blood monies by the April deadline

Jay does come up with some nice guns. I almost bit on a GH 16 0 frame damascuss he had at a gun show a couple of weeks ago.

If I was motivated buyer for a gun as such, I'd order my own letter before making an offer.

Jay is a great person and dealer. Like a lawyer he presents his case in the best light, promoting strenght and avoiding weakness except for rebuttal.

I'm not ready to give that gun a "Ho Hum" emoticon yet. The occasional stock book page entry has a less than legible reference to "experimental", "prototype", or some such suggestion. This gun could be the prototype skeet gun. It is certainly in the right serial number range to compete with identified skeet guns from other makers. I don't agree that seventy five potential buyers interested in a gun advertised on the internet should be forced to pay for a PGCA letter when the seller could provide that information in the interest in selling the gun. I know that Jay sells some nice guns, but he doesn't have to advertise them like a lawyer would. (Bob J.'s novel comparison)

I agree, Dean. Advertisements for graded Parkers are almost always devoid of information that could be provided by the seller for $40.00. When I start selling Parker shotguns, I will try to provide all the information I have available to me, including who did what of the repair, restoration, and refinish.
