Default Parker article in the Summer DGJ

Those of us who take the Double Gun Journal will find a very touching article by Steve Cambria "Tool Man" on a certain Parker GHE and its former owner Lt. Cmdr. James K Averill who went off to war and never came home. I received an advance copy of the DGJ today and really enjoyed the article which took tremendous research I'm sure. Photo spread is very well done. Look for the new DGJ in your mailboxes! Frank

I can't wait. I actually just got the two index and readers and recommend those for anyone who doesn't have them. DGJ is a great publication

If you get the DGJ and read Steve's article, hopefully the DGJ printed the entire contents that Steve submitted. Look at this previous thread http://parkerguns.org/forums/showthr...highlight=tool
and you'll see what I was talking about when I referred to "The rest of the story."

Steve filled me in on the serendipity of his research for the DGJ article at the Vintagers in R.I. last year. If the DGJ doesn't print "the rest of the story", I'm sure Steve will let everyone know what it was.

Chuck ..... Steve and I have been yukking it up while he ever so patiently waited for his author's copies and today we texted quite a few times on the article content after I got the advance copy. Just based on his Q & A's it sounds like the DGJ printed his article as submitted, to include his Postscript on the wonderful E-bay find. It's not my place to say more here. Steve is away from the net at present but I'm sure he'll comment after he gets his copies to review. Frank
