Well, after completing my 16 slam, I realized I had used all my Parkers this season except for my little VH 20 w/ 26" cyl/mod barrels. I bought this gun around 1990 and it had been reblued, recased, and refinished. I know you guys will think I'm crazy, but I never carry it or the little O frame DHE 16 that I posted on yesterday. I will have to change that situation and take them to the UP next year. They are both perfect little grouse guns.
When I dropped the tailgate Sunday, the beepers were going off before I had the gun out of the case. I thought the dogs were probably on "kennel point", but they already had a cockbird nailed. The little 20 did its job just fine. The second bird did require the second barrel, but that was my fault.
My dogs work very well together, and I really enjoy hunting them together
(father/daughter brace).
