Default Nice find at OGCA show

Bought a C M Powers gun cleaner Faries Mfg Co Dacatur Ill. Still in cloth case that I believe it came in.
Looked at interesting engraving on # 258 - a dead looking bird with feet sticking up in air.
There were lots of repros. One 20ga with 28" bbls and Q-1 & Q-2. Asking $4300.
Used to see and talk to old men at the shows. They are gone and now I am one.

Beats the alternative Gordon... at least your feet are sticking in the right direction still! I'm off to see if I can get some pintials to stick their feet up in the air as they float on the lake.

Gordon,
Congradulations on the Power's cleaning rod. The cloth bags are hard to find.

Gordon,

Was the dead bird laying on a box looking contraption? If so, it was probably a pigeon laying on a pigeon trap. There's been a lifter gun being shown at the Michigan Antique Arms Show with that kind of engraving. The gun is a beater, the engraving is the only thing that makes it interesting, guy apparently wants a fortune for it. Might be the same gun actually, can't be too many like that out there.

Destry;

Thats the same gun. When he said 4K I thanked him and walked on. I did like the loading tools in the box.
The lady at the table with him was pleasant and nice looking.

Yeah, that's gotta be the same one. Like I said, the engraving is the only thing that might make the gun worth more than $800-1200 bucks and it's worn down a bit. At $4000 the guy is dreaming the lotus eaters dreams.
