Default Locked and Loaded

Just heard on the 5 o'clock news that a gun collection was stolen right here in town...

Security here at the house is tight and patrolled (by myself) with 'superior firepower'.

Don't know yet who the victim is and may never know due to privacy and security reasons.

The gun thief is probably the same person who stole two M-16's from a SWAT vehicle in the same town.

Could be all the same story. I haven't heard any other news about a "collection".

Dean: Just be sure that they are all the way inside the door or window before you send them into the next life.

My wife, Sylvia, feels a 1911 Colt is unladylike. Thus, she, in a true Parkerly way, calls upon her 12 gauge Parker Trojan when persons of unknown character are in the neighborhood. This has been true since an elderly couple (antique dealers) were killed by a crackhead 4 miles from our farm, 20 years ago. I, on the other hand, do have a 1911A1, parked in my nite stand. The sad thing is, home invasions are beginning to become somewhat common here in upstate NY.

Bill

I remember a similar statistic on the rise of "hot" burglaries in a report from England,

when the concern of the resident being armed diminishes, it is easier to hold the homeowner hostage and make them tell you where the valuables are rather than search for them.

BTW - there are some good quotes on here

http://www.tfaonline.org/index.php/quotes/#

the ones from the founding fathers are educational

many of the other are also entertaining

i like

2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

7. The old sheriff was attending an
awards dinner when a lady commented
on his wearing his sidearm. “Sheriff, I
see you have your pistol. Are you
expecting trouble?”
“NO Ma’am. If I were expecting trouble,
I would have brought my rifle.”
