Recently ran into a redone vhe with a beavertail forend. The stock is original but I am not sure about the beavertail...any thoughts?

are there serial numbers stamped in the wood?
Is the foreend lug correct for a BTFE?
does the FE have a bolt in the end?

More pictures might help.

The serial number is not stamped in the wood.

I don't have any other pictures yet.

The inletting is rather deep for the forend latch. I'm going to say replacement until the through bolt and forend loop are confirmed.

If it does not have the through bolt in the nose of the btfe or the proper forend loop, then it is not original. As mentioned above, the Inletting of the latch does not look right, but also, the border on the checkering is not correct either.

The serial number would be stamped on the face of the forend, under the iron. Not visable without taking the iron off.
