Default VH Has Been Restocked

My VH 12g Infallible trigger gun has been restocked. The “original” stock was butt-ugly and too short. The new stock was procured from Keith Kearcher at the Vegas show. Stock is now fit and 95% finished. Comb is too high so I’ll be taking it down. Right now when I mount the gun I see the entire rib. I have no desire to have to “float the birds” while shooting. Shot it yesterday. I’ll be working on the comb next week and it’ll be back in business soon.

Notice the locking screw in the tang screw by the top-lever.

A nice CH stock upgrade.

Very nice Mike. Is that little lock screw on the top "action" screw particular to a gun with Infallible triggers? Not sure I've seen that before.

Yup, Mike, I noticed the lock screw. Yes, it is standard equipment on the Infallible trigger, to keep the tangs tight. However, yours looks like it was installed by Howard Miller or his brother. Just joking, of course, but someone could easily clean it up. I like the new stock.

I believe it is so the action stays tight and doesn’t mess up the geometry. Those are technical terms.

Now it’s a CVH! If I ever sell it I can use the online auction prose of “This is an ultra-rare configuration….”
