That sounds like a beast of 30" barrel 10ga, sure won't kick much. That must be close to a record weight for 3 frame 30" barrel stampings. The gun has some issues from the sounds of it but nothing that can't be fixed, it is 123 years old so some issues are to be expected. I'll bet some of the mechanical issues are due to crud in the action. When you get it fixed do you have someone to carry it for you?

i took the old n grade apart this evening..heres what i found so far a bad oil soaked stock 2 screws missing in the latching very small..this are the screw that hold the linkage that the top lever open s and shuts the barrel with...lots of crud in the action for sure...also one very small piece came out i ve never seen before.may need help on this piece if it actually go to a parker...the hair trigger is still in question i have not seen anything yet that should cause it to be so touchy...well i ve got 2 find some screws i m just gona take my time and fix this ole gal rite... hey pete your probably rite about these being the heaviest barrels on a three frame gun...and just 30 inches of barrel...but thomas still got me beat by a whole lot about 2 lbs worth...now who s got a extra pair oif them screws to sell...charlie

The safety probably doesn't work because of the stripped screw. The distance between the upper and lower tangs is critical and if that screw doesn't tighten up, the safety block won't come down far enough.

Charlie, I have lots of Parker screws. Are you going to the Southern Shoot this month? I will bring my box of screws. Ed

Apparently someone at Parker didn't feel like draw filing barrels on the day your gun was made.

Hey Charley. Why don't you try weighing your barrels and see if it matches the stamped weight on the barrels. I am just curious.
