From what I remember about Ernie's course the targets were in general grouse hunting type shots. Most stations were tight and fast except when you got out over the pond. I think rather than bringing my normal SC guns I will pack a 12, 16, and 20 gage, all fast handling game guns with 26" barrels and choked open and full which is what I like to use behind my flusher. Rich did I mention the 20 gage was a Fox?

Two years ago at the Northeast Shoot, I had not fixed the broken extractor on my PHE trap gun's 30" barrels that I would normally use for sporting clays. I snapped on the open choked 26" barrels which I had only used for skeet in the past. It was an unusual sight picture for sure. I missed what I thought were a bunch of birds on the first part of the course. They were absolute gimmes. I was really disappointed. The score card showed a 45 with a very long run at the back end which put me in second place behind my hero, J.D. Shank, who broke a 46. It was one of my proudest days in sporting clays competition. By the way, Larry, I broke every one of the many long birds that they throw over the pond. Don't worry too much about your 26" barrels.

Eric go ahead and open the chokes on that big ol 12. We will still have something to talk about on the clays course..trust me. IF a certain 16 were mine it would be off to Mike Orlean for a choke intervention so fast it's ribs would seperate.

Larry I know the 20 is a Fox hence the discounted price with easy terms

Hausmans is a close course for sure. My Hollywood gun a 16ga skeet has a broken ejector rod and is at the Dr.'s now to be ready for dah U.P. shoot eh.
I'll bring a 16 & 20 both 30 inch bbls IC/M and a 28 skt/skt. Last year the 5stand warranted M/F.

There is a certain Lefever that is tightly choked rendering unsuitable for Grouse and Woodcock.

Eric, I'll bring you a box of 16 gauge spreader loads.
But that 12 has got to be opened up by September!
