Yes, the 1-Frame goes all the way back to when Parker Bros. first began to make standardized frame sizes.

On the earliest ones the 1 may have not been stamped on the barrel lug but you can bet the pin separations were standardized.

Yes, I would think the first 1 frame would be pretty early. I remember seeing an early 11 gauge on a 0 frame, of all things.

I think I would like to witness in sixteenths of an inch the firing pin separation on that one
