Wouldn't you think that it would be money ahead to hire someone to spend about two hours cleaning up the exterior of these guns? Spend $50 cleaning them up for show, and I think you'd double your money

After I confirmed that Kurt and my other friend were done bidding I tried my luck. The gun sold for $3360 which is more than I was willing to pay.

Congratulations to whoever the rich and lucky bidder was!!! This will be a nice gun.

Holy cow! I imagine Mr Duffyguns is a happy camper. Kurt was clearly the lightweight in the bidding! We may all be crying when pics of the restored gun come up on the forum, which I hope they do. Except for the cc, that gun will look near brand new when it's cleaned up.

I must have really wanted an original D grade hammer gun to bid that much. I put my last bid and left to move more snow. Decided enough was enough and time to walk away. Little did I know Everyone else quit before me! Now I am stuck with an original D grade hammer gun, with original wood and butt plate, good dimensions, and with some minor work, shootable. Good thing its January

David,

You got a great gun!!!

If the bores have any minor flecking, surface rust, of pits try using ball hones (Flex Hone, Google it). They will clean up minor flaws like magic!

Have someone redo the Damascus barrels while you clean up the outside and fix the lock and you will be the envy of all shooting.

Once again, congratulations on a very shootable Grade 3 Toplever 10 Gauge Parker!

PS: If you need Shreman Bell's low pressure 10 gauge loading data send me a PM with your email.

Respectfully,
Mark

Thanks for the words of advice. I'm already loading for a lifter, grade 2, 10 ga. What is your guess with the lock? besides a good cleaning.

Kurt Densmore is the person to ask about that.

If welding and refitting the hammer or sear is required Francis Morin is the welding expert.
