Hi folks!

My sincerest thanks! Actually, once the voting is over for this month for Parker of the month - I will offer this up in next months contest.. My thanks!

As well - I'm trying to get a few more scanned in - and will post one of my great-grandfather, George L. Osborn - back from fox hunting. It's kind of a neat old family photo as well - but without a Parker (sorry ). As a few of you know - he did have a rather unique Parker, however.

Here is a picture of my 82 year old mother when she was 19, and a picture of me in the door 52 years ago, my Dad is on the far right, and next to him is my Grandfather.

Anyway - for various reasons, I treasure this picture at many levels. To me - "Anne Dana Osborn" was simply "Nana", who could shoot in her own right with the best of them.

BTW - if she ever thought her picture was on an internet site - she'd probably be mortified... So - sorry Nana!

I might enter this into the Parker of the Month, as to me - Nana and Grandpa (my great-grandparents) are responsible for my love of Parkers, history and many memories..

My thanks! As well, Bill - excellent pics!! Should I ask what kind of dogs are those?? (HEH!!! )

As well, here is a picture of my great-grandfather ("Grandpa") George L. Osborn. Until I got this picture - I had no idea about his dogs when he hunted. As well, since I got excited about these, my Mom is sending up a whole bunch of family pics - aside from the cartons I have and have been sorting. It would be a tragedy if they were ever lost...

Anyway - below is Grandpa. He's the guy that DGJ was trying to figure out when they wrote the Parker article a while ago...? To me - he was just "Grandpa". I think he always will be.

Your Grandfathers taste in dogs and guns was impeccable. You still need a little work. Parker and Judy say's hi, and they miss you, must be the way I treat them.

A wonderful photo John! I'm sure you're very proud of your family Parker heritage... I would be. My but they grew big grouse back then!! That Parker looks like Robin's AAHE sixteen....

Unfortunately I have no ancestral Parker (or any kind of gun that I know of) connection that I can be proud of but, if any of my daughters or grandchildren develop the interest, I will be their ancestral Parker connection. I sure hope at least one of them develops the interest (I'm working on it...)

John, Thanks for the great pics of your gunnin' ancestors. The one of your Grandpa reminded me of mine, Fritz Hertrich, a German immigrant. On a summer evenings when he came in from the field or barn, he would sit down on the veranda with a couple of bottles of Genesee and a chunk of Limburger and relax. A couple of times a year he would bring his Winchester .22 pump with him (neat gun, octagonal barrel, hammer gun; I forget the model number, you guys probably know it) and wait for a cat to show up and pile it up. It was his means of population control. I have no relevant pictures except in my mind's eye. He had no Parkers, but did have a nice Mod. 12.

Your grandpa was my kind of guy, limburger, choise of targets, and probably a Model 61 or 90 Winchester. The only exception being I sip a Bud or FG not Geneese.
