Well, I have no connection to or specific knowledge of the gun pictured or anything, but the Monte Carlo comb certainly appears to be added on through some means.

Yes. It was in Julia's auction last winter, along with his Ithaca No. 5E 16-gauge and his Magnum-Ten No. 4+E both of which were originally the elder Chas. Askins' guns. Also, many of Elmer's rifles and pistols were in the auction. Got to fondle them all at the winter Las Vegas show.
