Parker 157766 DHE interesting stock
I looked at 157766 today 12 gauge, 30" DHE #2 frame straight grip that has had better days. What was very interesting about this gun was the buttstock had a straight comb and cheek piece like a rifle with very nicely figured wood. It was original to the gun in age/wear and under the trigger guard was stamped 157766 3. What is the rarity of a cheek piece on a parker?

A rare special order option that is not unheard of, but rare indeed.

I have seen three others that were original David |
I know of a 24" DHE 28 that had one but the wood didn't match the forend very well so I figured it was a restock. It's been restocked since them also.

I have a SSBP and trigger guard off a a BH trap gun made in 1898. Curiosity made me send in for a letter on it. The letter said it originally had a raised Monte Carlo stock so they were an option fairly early. Wish I had the whole gun.

The above photographed gun is not to be confused with factory work.

David,
I am working on Elmers gun as we speak, what a great gun. Brad |
Brian, Is that cheekpiece applied to the stock, or is it a one piece construction?
