It's hard to know exactly what kind of "better" you are looking for, but you might try getting a bottle of Mark Lee browning solution from Brownells, degreasing your barrels, and giving them a few coats. They will get darker/contrasty, but still look "old" if you're careful. If you've never done this before, best to do some research on technique first however.
