I gave a 'beaver stick' that I picked up in northern Maine this past season that was about 18 inches long, was chewed by the beaver on both ends and gave it to mone of my grandsons. Thought he'd take it to school to use as a talking piece as that week they were discussing animals in class. His teacher refused to let him bring it into the school saying it could be used to bludgeon another child. This is the thinking these days in Massachusetts. What a wonderful world we live in today...
