It's confusing but the dogs head, and bird varied not only by year, but by frame size. The Serialization and Identification book has a good variety of the butt plates and describes their progression. Guns made in Meriden, after Remington bought Parker, may still say 'Bros', as inventory was used up, but Remington was restricted in using 'Bros' and did not, once they moved production to Ilion NY.
