The setter's name is 'Buddy' and he's six (6) years old. We shot pheasants over him at Markover this past Saturday. We waited for the drizzle to stop around 11 am and then went out to the fields with his owner and handler Roy who is like a member of our family after all these years. With the air heavy with so much moisture, the scent conditions were terrific. We just needed the birds to fly and they did! All in all, it was a good day with a great friend and former teammate and just a super pre-Christmas treat.

This Is pictures of my 11 month old gordon setter from last winter playing in the snow... we need snow for Christmas....she is now 20 months and can't weight for some snow. SXs ohio

Alan,
Glad to hear you had a good day at Markover. I took my 7 month old Britt out for a little training this weekend and the humidity and 10 mph breeze made scenting the birds ideal. I love this time of year. |

Once Thanksgiving is over, it is ok to start celebrating Christmas. Our gun club had their Christmas party/dinner tonight and it was out of this world. We went out early and shot clays while waiting for the dinner which just added to the fun.
