The quail population varies from year to year. I think this season will be above average. I run four Brittanys and rotate them. One went into a heat exhaustion seizure yesterday before lunch. He is fine today. If you hunt up and down a creek the dogs do a lot better but if no birds are there it defeats the purpose.
And I am teaching Joe how to shoot. He turns into a big blowhard when he gets off somewhere where nobody knows him.
