Jim, How about some pics of your pup(s). I had heard of the breed but knew nothing and your post got me looking. First stop, Wikipedia. There was a pic, posted below, and a mention that the breed was brought to England in the 18th century by some Brits in the wine business and, probably, a basis for the English Pointer. My old EP, a couple of years gone now, was a throw back to the EPs of a century ago; large boned, well sprung ribs, block headed, held his tail horizonally on point. Pretty much as described for the PP; a couple of pics below, see what you think.
