I said relatively speaking. This is what i was alluding to: I miss all the nice compression formed WW 16's that i used to get. I am just not happy with the hulls that are out there now. They are NEVER on sale and they are pricey. BUT- you should always stock up. You can never have enough ammo. Besides-There is an election in November. |

Cabelas in wheeling ,Wv does not carry many 16 ga shells unless you want to shoot Fiochi Golden Pheasant loads . They sometimes have the Estate when they have a sale but even then rarely have more than a case or two. Dicks, will carry RGL's, but now dont want to sell them for the same price as the 12's and 20's, but I have been able to convince the manager to give them to me at the same price if I buy all they have--which is normally not more than a case or 2. Walmart doesn't seem to carry them either except for an occassional box of Rem Express at $15/ box. I have 9 cases laid away in the garage and was recently given a Mec 600,jr and am now enjoying those sweet 7/8 oz loads.

I have a stack of flats as tall as I am. I buy them at Dick's whenever they are on sale around five bucks. There may be no more, but I have a lifetime supply. Look for my obituary for a good buy.

Thats a very nice 16 and should make a fine bird gun.
The 16 is quickly becoming my favorite at both the SC course and the upland fields. A 7/8th oz load is hard to beat for both applications. I shoot only 2 1/2 inch low pressure loads and while I reload all mine RST is never out of 16's. |

Bill, that is exactly how I aquired many of the shells I have . A friend died and I was offered his shotgun shells at $40/ case including many cases of 16's, 28ga AA, and 410's. I bought over 20 cases. I hope John smiles everytime the clays break or feathers fly.
