The sheriff lost 15/16 guns?? Not likely. For me, this situation has an odor about it and sounds very suspicious. I'd be pounding on the mayors door and quickly making an issue of this. I'd put that sheriff on the spot publicly as quickly as I could, in the local paper and any way I could. Get a lawyer and raise some hell if necessary. Parker Bros. did not make handguns by the way.

We just got a call from the sheriff. They have found the hand guns in a suitcase. They are relieved also. At least we will know what they really are now.

Actually the make was "PB." I assumed this was Parker Brothers. They did call it a handgun on the inventory and the serial number looks like it was made in 1885.
