i have never killed a black squirl would be a trophy for me for sure. i went hunting in the miss. delta one time deer hunting seen a lot of them black squirls. was tempted to shoot one but was using a 30 06.those black squirls were nearly as big as our fox squirls. always wished ida tried barking off one of those squirls with that ole 06. i loaded up some 10 ga shells i used to hunt those squirls with .they were 2 7/8 . i used 30 grain of blue dot. 1 1/2 in wad 1 1/2 ounce of 7 1/2 shot toped off with shot card. sealed with a little dab of silcone. this load is very very light load but will kill them squirls out to50 paces with no problems for me.i shot these squirls with a10 ga. parker hammerless with 32 in. barrels made in1901.sure was a hoot shooting those squirls with this combo. i will be going to a ball game this evening cant go hunting.. bo ho charlie
