				LAST DAY OF DOVE SEASON

Debated all week, geese or doves. Weather this morning was 24 degrees or colder it seems. Since it was the last day for doves, went for them. Took a four month project out, a 1927 32" DH 12 ga choked modified and full that just got the wood back on it two weeks ago. First time I had ever shot it. Sun up at 7 and had to leave at 9, but managed 10 in hand and 3 lost. Could not believe I could lose them in a green field but I did. These plump birds now in large flocks are a whole lot more of a challenge in January than they were back in September. Also 24 degrees is more challenging that 90s! Gun performed flawlessly. Shooter did not always keep up his end of the bargain.
