Bill:I do have a letter and it was purchased by J.W.Cross in a small town in Minnesota back in 1885. I hope to trace down and see who this man was. I have to find out what he would be hunting with this 14 pound gun. It was more than likly waterfowl because of the Mississippi flyway. Thanks Thomas

Wow. Is 14 pounds what he specified on the order? I have seen 12 gauge guns special ordered as heavy as ten pounds, but fourteen pounds for a ten would be a record, in my opinion.

Bill:It was ordered L.O.P. 141/4", drop at comb 2",drop at heel2 3/4",Weight 14 pounds. The price was 80.00,right full, left hand full. Thomas
