The committee has no power other than to accurately tabulate the nominations and present the DSP awards in accordance with the rules that were developed at the inception of the program. If we don't adhere to a democratic way of doing this I think the DSP program will fall short of the standard for which it was developed - that of being a way for the membership to show their appreciation and gratitude to their fellow members who have stepped up and 'shown the way'.
