Peter, I agree that the Johnson book is probably responsible for the Parker phenomenon, and is probably the best place to start for someone looking to learn about Parkers. However, keep in mind that much has come to light since Peter wrote his book, and be prepared to revise any impressions you gain from the book as you continue your research through more updated sources (i.e. some of the "facts" in the book have been outdated by more recent research).
