Light, short barrel, open bored tens. I don't know what the original purchasers were thinking when they originally ordered them, but now they are very scarce and I buy every one I can find. I use the 1 1/8 ounce RST in the light tens.

In my modern 10 ga which has screw in chokes. I have a briley Light modified and I love that particular constriction. Though when I get my old sxs it has full/full. Also why does rst have 10 ga listed by the 100 rd case.only? I don't need that much but will buy it if they don't have.other options

Charlie, my Swiss is a Model 1869/71 rifle that I rescued from being turned into a parts gun or wallhanger. It needed a lot of TLC and quite a bit of stock work. The bore is rough for the first 6 inches or so, but puts 20 shots into a 3" group at 50+ yards with my improvised sights. I use a .430" Lee 310 grain gaschecked bullet and 11 grains of Unique. It is necessary to seat the bullets way out, but I tried seating them and crimping into the normal crimping groove. It did nothing but create a bigger jump for the bullet. I converted the bolt to centerfire and use trimmed and formed PP 8x50R brass. It is quite a shooter. Now that I have my loads where I want them, I will work on some long range shooting. I have quite a few 19th century milsurps along with my four 19th century shotguns. I have a seriously tight budget, so my guns certainly reflect that. I put many hours into making them right and loading my own cartridges. All of my guns were far from original when I got them. They just don't look like crap anymore. My newest rifle is a 1945 vintage MAS 1936 that I pulled out of a dumpster. It shoots amazing groups with cast bullets. Cheers!

Milton, RST will sell mixed cases and they also publish a list of their dealers who will ship you a box of shells. RST attends many side by side events where they display their wares and will sell you a box of anything on their price list. Where are you located? You may have an RST dealer near your home. I have used RST in the past as well,excellent product....unfortunately during a correspondence with Mr.Papp earlier this year he informed me that they can no longer ship to Canada...very sad new's.

I once tried to use my 6 1/4 pound ten gauge Sauer for tame pheasants with chambermates and light 12 gauge loads. The brass was sticking in the chambermates, so I finished out the day with real ten gauge shells. Now that RST is loading the 1 1/8 ounce tens, I haven't used the chambermates since.

Question: anyone shoot their 16 gauge one ounce light loads in a "0" frame? I shoot them in a # 1 frame 16 and they do have a little bit of a recoil. I am considering a "0" frame 16 and wonder if one ounce might be hard on the lighter stock. Thanks

I use nothing but RST paper’s in my 1907 VH 0 frame 16 with 26” barrels 5lb. 13 oz. (fast becoming my all time favorite shotgun:-) recoil is very tolerable and you just got to love the smoke & smell of those papers, “old school all the way”


I dropped 12 of these on a hunt back in Feb. using the above-mentioned Parker & shells in there #6 shot. I have a flat of #7.5’s on the ready for this September’s dove opener
