Default Ol Reliable and Sage

My 1911 VH 20 has done it again with the help of my 3yr old Labrador, Sage.
We have been kept out of the field with 12" of snow and ice for the past few weeks. Warmer temps and some rain this past week allowed us to get out again.

Sage had 7 points/flushes, I pulled the trigger 7 times.

What a great combination. A 20ga and a lab.

Yes and no, she will point but not hold. After she stops on a bird she starts working around it to flush.

Pix shots like these are forever my favorites. Love the setting and background.

I've tried to get pics with birds on the ground, dog and gun but darn it none of my dogs will leave the birds alone long enough to get a picture!

Often wished I had a single trigger gun for those cold hunts.
Nice

I believe that at some point someone turned it into a skeet gun, adding the beaver tail and the Miller trigger. By eye it looks to have had the left barrel opened up. The barrels are factory 28" per the factory records.
I picked it up November of 24, on the second day of our pheasant season. Our hunt club hunts until mid March. I shot 91 pheasants, chukar with my VH. Our club also holds a preseason shoot, 25 targets, kind of a trap/sporting combo. I shot the Parker for this years shoot, darned if I missed my 23rd target! Dropping 1 target was enough to win though !
