Default Loss of another member.

It is with great sadness that I pass on that I received a call today from David Boyles wife today.
Drue informing me that her husband David passed away on December 7 due to complications from a stroke.
Although David and I never had the opportunity to meet in person we established a friendship, and I am very grateful for the many conversations we had discussing our love of shotguns and hunting, and doing some gun trading.
We had hoped to do a Mearns hunt this year but had decided it best to try and do the hunt next year when the bird numbers had a chance to recover.
We talked of the possibility to meet this year and shoot pigeons and Eurasian dove instead.
Unfortunately fate intervened.
David was a good man I am proud to have call a friend.

Phil, thanks for letting us know about David’s passing. One of the wonderful features of our Association and its forum is that we get to know folks we’d never meet otherwise. Even these distant friendships are meaningful. I hope David’s family finds peace, and my condolences to them…and to you, his friend.

Was David from Texas?
I remember David now, and he was quite a gentleman. He came to the Southern one year with his daughter/granddaughter?. He stayed in our hotel in Fuquay-Varina, and I shot a couple rounds with him at Drakes.
We also communicated by PMs for a while on a couple subjects.
Truly a loss of a good man.

Sad to hear. David contributed articles in Parker Pages as well. He hunted doves over waterholes late in the day as I have often done. I also recall him hunting with younger members of his family. My prayers for all who mourn this loss.

This is such sad news... I loved David like a brother. He contributed many articles for Parker Pages and we often talked on the phone not just about our Parkers and hunting and related articles but we talked about our love for our wives and families too.
I owed him a call as he called me a few weeks ago... and now I'll never be able to call him again.
This is so very sad - David was a wondeerful Friend.

You are correct Harold. I shot a round or two with him and his daughter I believe at Drakes. RIP David.

Thanks, Phil. I do remember David and a couple conversations we had in the past of our guns, hunting and you! Somehow your name would pop up when we spoke. He was a good guy.

David was a great guy. I remember him and his daughter Perry coming to the Southern. I sold him a custom rifle in 257 AI which he loved and used to hunt pigs. Several times I asked him if he wanted to sell it back to me but the anser was always a definite NO!
