Default Hello from Canada

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve. I am new to Parkers, and shotguns in general (from a collecting perspective). I have been a collector and shooter since my teens, amassing over the years a few different collections. At various points I have had many of the variations of military Mauser rifles, Ross rifles, Lugers, Mauser Broomhandles, British military firearms, etc, and still have a fondness for target .22 pistols and rifles.

I took up trap shooting about 4 years ago, having tried it and not liked it when I was 16 (40 years ago). I love it. This has unfortunately combined with my collecting tendencies so I now have few of the old SBT as well as some various SxS doubles. Up here there are a fair number of old British doubles which are often in very nice condition, well made, and quite inexpensive, but Parkers and LC Smith shotguns seem to be as much in demand in Canada as they are in the States.

I find the old SBT shoot just as well as many of the new guns, and really enjoy taking them out to play every now and then. In the spring I want to have a "vintage trap shoot" with a few of the other club members, and set up a different gun at each station, with everyone rotating through each gun--Parker, Baker, Three Barrel Gun, LC Smith, Ithaca, and '97 Win so they can experience how "real" guns shoot

Welcome Ed, I try to attend a few vintage shoots each year.
