I bought an "A" grade a couple of years ago. The number was included in one of the "lost" books but the water table was stamped with a 5 above the serial number and an A below. With a good magnifying glass I was able to determine by the ring of nearly invisible bubbles in the steel that the original letter (B) had been welded over and restamped. I returned the gun as it was still on the 3-day inspection and the seller asked no questions. For whatever reason, it was apparantly done to deceive.
