The only Parker I have that's anywhere near that straight grained is a Trojan, but the grain doesn't have the contrast between the layers that your DH has. That is a beautiful gun you have there! Let me know if you ever decide to sell it.

Straight grain, black striped wood is very characteristic of Juglans Regia, no matter how many fancy Juglans Regia stocks you see on the net.

Here's my restocked 34" VH. The wood used was a 50+ year old blank of french walnut from long gone gun shop of Roy Vail.
