I've hunted deer in the Poconos all my life and never encountered Keds. Maybe the numerous ticks chase them off.
By the way, I'm 77 and I started when I was 10.

Bob, the incident I described in my post would have occurred in the early to mid-1990s , specifically on State Gamelands 180, near the intersection of Rt. 84 and State Rd 739 in Pike County. Since 1998 I’ve been mainly a bird hunter with my German Pointers and then my Labrador up until her passing three years ago. I did deer hunt a few days most years but hunted private land around Greentown and the Brady’s Lake gamelands in Monroe County. I never had anymore incidents with keds, and I continued to frequent those areas hunting game birds, and ducks and geese.
Take care
Tim

Tim, I bagged my first bear off the Well road on game lands 180 where Kahr Arms has their facility now. Mud Pond swamp. Our bear and deer gang hunts Skytop property now. Bradys Lake area is a good spot also.
