I tried 100 rounds of 28ga using 572, and I too found the volume an issue. Fortunately I have a good variety of wads. I think I ended up using the BP2895, but that wad is too expensive. My normal, RO-28 Fiocchi wad and 20/28 gives me my best 3/4oz crimp (I'm loading only 2 1/2")
I went to Cabelas for shot today, and they did have plenty of Longshot and 572 on the shelf.
With the powder shortage and Alliant suspending their production it seems we have to shoot what we can find. I will always prefer Alliant powders and have a good supply but it won't last forever and as the saying goes beggars can't be choosers. Hoping the 572 will make 20ga loads that go boom.
