Just make sure you clean the stock before you put it on. And just leave it on. They do not do well with taking them off and on again over and over. I have had decent luck with them. But recently I had a Parker that I could just not get one to stick to for the life of me.

Same. Maybe I dreampt it, but I vaguely recall someone saying to wash it with hot soapy water, let it dry, and it will stick. I did. It does.

Maybe not an issue for everyone, but these gel pads go down a bit on both sides, which will effectively add cast. When I first applied one, I found it was like way too much, and removing it, and re-applying it such that the edge was only just over the top edge of the comb corrected it.
