Edgar, I've had Nobel, Fiocchi, Winchester, Federal, CCI and Cheddite primers in bulk for years. I have not had any issues using any of those primers in my reloads. The only time I've had misfires were from factory Fiocchi shells in 28 and a few in .410. Occasionally I'd have a .410 not go bang. I would have some of the 28g not go bang and have a dimpled primer. Drop them in again and they discharge properly. If they were from reloads I'd think maybe I didn't seat them enough and the firing pin strike seated them all the way, but these were factory.

I had several pierced primers with Cheddites years ago when they came on the market. Maybe they've improved but I'll not use them on my guns.

I've occasionally seen pierced Cheddites in Model 12 Winchester pump guns and A H Fox double-guns, both with overly generous firing pin/hammer tip protrusion. Easily solved by measuring protrusion and modifying to shorten.

I’ve pierced STS , WIN , FED and Cheddarites with Parker hammer guns in 8 , 10 12 and 16 gauges . But to the best of my knowledge I’ve never pierced one with a hammerless gun .
