I don't know why. All I know is that it was done at the factory. I've never seen another one on that low a grade of gun that wasn't a vent rib. OK, let me know if I'm wrong. George, I'll be eager to see you at the show this weekend. You will love our display. OK, guys, you heard it here. George and I went to high school together and we are still neighbors.

Hang tag says chamber lengthened on 3/11/63, by who, Remington, DelGrego? I wonder if the barrels were refinished and the stamping on the rib was polished off enough that someone felt chasing it or retoring via engraving was a good idea? Who knows.

Bill why are you sure it was done at the factory?

Pete, it just looks great. If it was done outside of the factory, I have some work for that guy.
