From what I've seen, English crocodile cases are considerably more than a similar cowhide cases. The crocodile cases don't show up often.

I followed a Purdey 32" pigeon gun for years. When I finally tracked it down, its crocodile case was gone. I couldn't' believe such a case could be separated from such a gun. The gun had unreal provenance, but I passed because the case was missing.
