Having frequented the high country my whole life, backpacking and hunting elk, I can wholeheartedly attest to the thin air at 10000'.
Incidentally, most of the fish in Arrowhead Lake were taking refuge under the rock overhangs and deep recesses along the bank due to a well fed American Bald Eagle.
The deep coloration of the trout is a result of their breeding season, which had just been completed. They don't always display such vivid coloration.
