It is a reinforcing rod that screws into the front of the forend iron which in turn latches to the reinforced, one piece, forend lug/lower rib.

If not for these reinforcing pieces the overly large beavertail forend with its larger gripping surface would pull the old style forend lug away from the barrels.

I bought them both separately and sold them separately to members here.

The stock is one of the finest aftermarket stocks I have ever seen.

The .410 forend is magnificent. It has a serial number correctly stamped in the bottom of channel but I couldn’t read the whole thing. I don’t know if it’s the real deal but I can’t say it’s not.
